How to Stop Target Coupons and Paper Mail
Target gives catalogs, coupons and other promotional postal mail a specific phone opt-out. You do not need to cancel Target Circle to ask for less paper.
Call the privacy information line about postal mail
In the Postal Mail section of its privacy policy, Target directs requests about catalogs, coupons and promotional paper mail to 1-800-831-6880. Say that you want the postal mailing preference changed, not merely email unsubscribe.
Set a recent Target mailer beside you before calling. Read the recipient and delivery address exactly as printed, including an apartment number. If the piece has a customer reference, keep it available for the representative rather than posting it in a public complaint.
Please stop Target catalogs, coupons and other promotional postal mail for [name as printed] at [full mailing address, including unit and ZIP code].
I want to change paper-marketing preferences, not cancel Target Circle, a card or a delivery membership. Please confirm the mailing record covered and how long already-prepared mail may continue.
This is wording for your call. The policy names the phone line for postal requests; a general privacy contact elsewhere on the site is not the same as a published paper-mail email instruction.
Do not trade your rewards for a mail preference
Target Circle cancellation is a separate choice. The policy says leaving Circle deletes accumulated rewards and Community Giving votes, and rejoining does not restore them. If your only problem is printed advertising, keep the conversation on the narrower postal preference.
Target Circle Card and Target Circle 360 have their own cancellation processes. Leaving the loyalty program does not cancel either one. Conversely, a confirmed paper-marketing request is not evidence that a paid membership or card has ended.
Check the sender on a financial offer before calling it a Target coupon. The policy distinguishes card-related privacy notices from Target retail communications. A statement, required account notice or bank promotion may need the issuer's instructions instead.
Do not erase your delivery address or uninstall the app to stop a postcard. You may still need that address for an order. Ask support to identify the marketing record rather than changing unrelated shopping details.
Keep a useful record of the call
Note the date, the address the representative matched and any case reference. If your household receives more than one named version of the same offer, ask which recipients were covered. Do not assume a request for one spelling silently covers every label variation.
The cited postal instruction gives no fixed last-delivery deadline. Ask about campaigns already prepared and note the allowance you are given. A telephone opt-out receipt is not proof that the next delivery will contain no Target advertising.
For later mail, compare its label with your call notes first. A different unit, former address or recipient gives support a concrete mismatch to investigate. Keep legitimate order and account communications separate when describing what still arrived.
Keep the Target label readable
A photo can help identify the printed sender and recipient. Target publishes a phone process for postal preferences; make that call yourself. A photo does not cancel Target Circle, a card or a delivery membership.
