How to Stop Macy's Promotional Direct Mail

Macy's lists a dedicated customer-service number for direct-mail unsubscribe. Use that paper-mail instruction rather than an email preference or a general privacy-office contact.

Call the direct-mail unsubscribe number

In Managing Your Preferences, Macy's current Notice of Privacy Practices lists Unsubscribe from Direct Mail Communications. The contact is 1-877-876-2297, with TTY 711 noted in the notice.

Ask to stop printed promotional mail. Read the name and full address from the unwanted piece, including any apartment number. If you have multiple labels, describe how they differ so the request can be matched to the intended recipient.

Please unsubscribe [name as printed] at [full mailing address, including unit and ZIP code] from Macy's promotional direct mail.

I am not cancelling a purchase, Star Rewards or a credit card. Please confirm the paper-mail record and explain the allowance for campaigns already scheduled.

This is wording for your call. The policy's general privacy contact and data-rights phone are published for other questions; do not substitute a guessed privacy email for the dedicated direct-mail route.

If the piece comes from Macy's Backstage or Market by Macy's, identify that name too. Those brands appear in the retail notice, but ask support which record was actually changed rather than assuming one vague unsubscribe instruction resolved every label.

The email deadline does not date the last mailer

The notice gives an up-to-10-business-day processing allowance for specific email unsubscribe. That estimate is not attached to the direct-mail phone instruction. Ask support separately how long prepared paper promotions may continue.

Similarly, a text STOP response addresses a mobile-marketing program. Record the channel you asked to change and keep the related confirmation; do not use a successful SMS opt-out as evidence about postal delivery.

Credit-card information has a separate Citibank privacy statement. Check whether an envelope is retail advertising, a card statement or a financial offer. Stopping Macy's retail promotions is not cancelling a card or opting out of every issuer communication.

Leave order, shipping and recall information available. If you also want to change loyalty or account settings, make those choices deliberately rather than requesting broad account deletion to solve an unwanted-mail problem.

Follow up with the new label, not another signup

Keep a brief note of the call, date, requested brands and any reference. Ask whether support matched an existing customer record or needed a separate mailing-list record. That answer helps if mail continues.

For a piece arriving after the allowance support gave, compare the printed name, address and campaign reference with your first request. Point out any mismatch and refer to the original call. Do not create another Macy's account merely to test whether paper mail stops.

If the mail belongs to someone else at your home, get their permission before requesting their preference change. For a former resident, explain the outdated delivery record instead of impersonating that person or trying to access their account.

Keep the Macy's label for the call

A photo preserves the unwanted promotion and recipient details. Macy's publishes a phone route for direct-mail preferences; make that request with Macy's yourself. This is not a card, order or Star Rewards cancellation.
