How to Stop Boston Proper Catalogs
Boston Proper publishes a marketing opt-out email. Ask for paper catalogs and direct mail specifically, with the exact name and postal address on your label.
Use the opt-out email for marketing
The Boston Proper Opt Out page directs marketing requests to optout@bostonproper.com. Its privacy policy explicitly covers direct mail and asks for your exact name and address.
For help or follow-up, the opt-out page lists customerservice@bostonproper.com and 800-243-4300. Do not confuse the site's Request a Catalog page with removal.
Say paper catalogs, not just unsubscribe
Use a subject such as “Stop Boston Proper paper catalogs and direct mail.” Adapt this message:
Please stop Boston Proper paper catalogs and other mailed marketing for [name as printed] at [full mailing address, including unit and ZIP code]. The label reference is [reference, if present].
Please confirm the postal preference updated. I am not requesting order cancellation or account deletion. [State separately whether you also want promotional email stopped.]
Remove bracketed instructions before sending and omit a missing reference. If you attach a label, crop it to the relevant name, address and mailing code. Keep card numbers and other account-security details out of the message.
Allow the paper-mail processing window
The policy allows up to eight weeks for a Do Not Mail request because mailings are planned in advance. Its up-to-ten-day Do Not Email window is different.
Keep the dated request and response. If paper arrives after the postal window, compare its label with the one sent. Ask support to check an unchanged or duplicate record rather than sending a vague new unsubscribe every time.
Leave purchases and account access alone
Boston Proper says order and shipment communications may continue after marketing removal. Those messages do not mean that a catalog preference was ignored.
Keep the request narrow. You can ask for paper marketing to stop without asking to erase your account, cancel a purchase or alter a delivery. If the catalog belongs to another household member, get their permission; if the named recipient moved out, explain that the mailing record is outdated.
More catalogs in the pile?
Use Boston Proper's published opt-out route for its paper mail. For another sender, a photo helps us identify the mailer and prepare a removal request. Your first request is free.
