How to Stop Best Buy Direct Mail

Best Buy expressly says its privacy contact can handle direct-mail requests. The access, deletion and advertising-rights forms have separate instructions.

Use the contact named for direct mail

Under How to contact us, the Best Buy privacy policy gives PrivacyManager@BestBuy.com, 1-888-237-8289, and a written address. It expressly allows those contacts to be used to stop direct mail.

For a letter, use Best Buy Corporate Campus, Attn: Customer Care/Privacy, 7601 Penn Avenue South, Richfield, MN 55423-3645. Identify the paper promotion and the mailing address that appears on it. An email address alone may not identify the postal record.

Please stop Best Buy promotional direct mail for [name as printed] at [full mailing address, including unit and ZIP code].

Please confirm the mailing record covered and any allowance for campaigns already prepared. This is a postal-marketing request, not account deletion, membership cancellation or a credit-card change.

Keep the message narrow. Give the printed recipient and home address through the official channel, but do not include passwords, a card number or a copy of a statement. If additional verification is requested, check the provider's instructions before sharing more.

Do not send every privacy request to the same inbox

The policy distinguishes the direct-mail contact from its prescribed methods for access, deletion and advertising opt-outs. Those broader requests have their own linked processes. This inbox is not a substitute for every data-rights form merely because it appears in the privacy policy.

Similarly, a browser cookie choice addresses digital advertising rather than confirming that a printed mailing address has been suppressed. If you want both changes, track them as separate requests with separate confirmations.

Be explicit if you want to keep My Best Buy or a paid membership. A request to stop paper promotions should not be worded as cancelling your membership benefits, closing a card or deleting the account you use to manage purchases.

Read the issuer on a financial letter. A Best Buy-branded card offer may involve a banking partner. Ask which organization controls that piece rather than assuming a retail contact can change the bank's marketing list or required statement delivery.

Follow up about the actual label

The direct-mail instruction does not publish a fixed final-arrival deadline. Ask about prepared campaigns and save the answer with your request date. Do not turn a privacy-request metric or a digital-advertising timeline into a promised paper-delivery cutoff.

An automatic email receipt only establishes that a message reached a system. Look for a reply identifying the postal preference or mailing record before marking the request confirmed. Keep any case number so the next conversation can refer to the same request.

If another promotion arrives later, compare its name, unit and return address against the first piece. Include the mismatch in your follow-up instead of resending identical wording indefinitely. A separate sender or recipient may need its own request rather than another account change.

Start with the printed Best Buy sender

A photo helps keep the mailing label clear. Use the official contact yourself for any account or identity verification. A paper-marketing request does not cancel My Best Buy, a paid membership or a card.
