How to Stop Academy Sports Promotional Mail

Academy Sports + Outdoors publishes a Customer Care route for unwanted postal advertisements. It asks you to identify which lists should stop, including vendor or partner mail where relevant.

Name the postal lists you want changed

Section 10 of Academy's Privacy Policy, Your Marketing Preferences via Mail, E-mail and Text, directs postal-removal requests to Customer Care at 1-888-922-2336. It asks for your name, postal address and the lists you want removed.

The instruction includes postal mail from Academy or its vendors or partners. Describe the actual piece instead of asking vaguely to unsubscribe from everything. If you want both Academy advertisements and relevant partner promotions stopped, say so explicitly and ask what the preference covers.

Please stop Academy Sports + Outdoors promotional postal mail for [name as printed] at [full mailing address, including unit and ZIP code].

Please also tell me how to stop vendor or partner postal promotions associated with that record. I am not cancelling an order or myAcademy Rewards. Confirm which lists this request covers.

Use this as a call note. Keep any printed recipient or campaign reference available; do not add a made-up customer number. If the representative needs an account identifier, use the official support process and provide only what is relevant.

Do not use an email or text choice for paper

The same policy describes email unsubscribe and separate text-message instructions. Those are channel-specific choices. A text STOP acknowledgement or email confirmation does not establish that Academy changed your postal address record.

The privacy-rights form addresses other data uses, including targeted advertising. It should not be described as a dedicated paper-mail form merely because it collects a street address. Start with the postal instruction the policy actually provides.

A saved shipping address is also different from a marketing preference. Removing an address from checkout may make future orders inconvenient without resolving the printed-mail record. Keep the address you need for delivery, and ask Customer Care for the narrower marketing change.

Do not opt out of order updates simply because they share a brand with unwanted sale advertisements. Important service, safety and recall communications have a different purpose from promotions.

Keep a record of the scope and timing

Note the call date, any case reference and the lists the representative says were changed. Ask whether additional action is needed for a named partner; do not assume every independent sports brand has received your request.

The cited postal paragraph does not establish a fixed last-arrival date. Ask about Academy's current allowance for mail already scheduled. A response period for a data-rights request is not a delivery estimate for a printed flyer.

If a later piece arrives, compare its sender and label with the one discussed on the call. An alternate spelling, household recipient or old workplace address gives support something specific to investigate. Refer to the earlier request rather than opening another shopping account to change the same preference.

Check the Academy mailer and its label

A photo can help identify the printed sender. Academy publishes a phone process for its postal preference; contact Customer Care yourself. Stopping an advertisement does not cancel an order or close a Rewards account.
